Behavioral Health Care Services
Care Alliance has integrated behavioral and primary care physical health. In July 2014, Care Alliance was the only local Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) to receive Affordable Care Act funding to expand behavioral health services.
Nearly 65,000 people have moderate or serious mental illness in Cuyahoga County, while 68% of adults with a mental illness also generally report at least one physical medical disorder (Druss and Walker, 2011). National research also shows that comorbid physical and mental health illnesses yield lower socioeconomic status, increased health costs, and decreased length and quality of life.
Care Alliance provides the following behavioral health care services to patients:
- Mental health assessment and counseling
- Group counseling
- Substance abuse counseling
- Psychiatry services
