Gifts In Kind

If you walked a mile in his shoes, you’d know how much he needs new ones.

You never really understand the value of a good pair of boots until you see the feet of a homeless patient suffering from severe frostbite. This unfortunate circumstance happens every year at Care Alliance, where nearly three quarters of our patients are experiencing homelessness. The long, icy winters and hot, humid summers are hard to endure. Being exposed to the elements is more than a discomfort for our patients; it’s a significant health risk.

But with the generous support of individuals, schools, religious and civic organizations, we can make the weather a little easier to bear. During the summer, we collect items like sunscreen and insect repellant. In the winter, we especially need warm socks, blankets, boots, coats and gloves. See our full wish list. We also collect books and supplies for our homeless book clubs.
