Angel A. Brown, D.O. - Medical Director
Dr. Brown began serving as a physician and the medical director at Care Alliance in July of 2007. She is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Brown completed her internship at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC and her residency at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Prior to attending medical school she worked as a family nurse practitioner and a certified nurse-midwife. |
Tomas Gigena, MD
Dr. Gigena Tomas came to Care Alliance Health Center in December 2006 as a Family Medicine physician. Originally from South America, he completed his medical school at the Cordoba National University near his hometown in Argentina. He did his residency training in Family Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and graduated with an additional in the International Health track. Dr. Gigena continued his medical education at University Hospitals with a fellowship focused on Women's Health where he received advanced training in PAP's, Colposcopy, and LEEP procedures. In additional to being Family Medicine Board Certified, he also bilingual speaking both English and Spanish fluently. |
Lisa Navracruz, MD
Dr. Navracruz completed her medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine in 2000. While in medical school she coordinated the student-run Arbor Free Clinic, ran a class pairing medical student with pregnant moms, and participated in a research study of children's aggression and their exposure to media violence. Dr. Navracruz did a Residency in Family Medicine at Case/University Hospitals, serving as Chief Resident before completing a Fellowship in Faculty Development with a focus in adolescent health. Dr. Navracruz currently serves as the Associate Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program at Case/UHC, the coordinator of the Teen Clinic at the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland, and the Coordinator of Medical Education at Care Alliance.Her professional areas of interest include patient-centered care, adolescent health, and campus-community partnerships. |
Judy Dawson-Weiss, Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Judy Dawson-Weiss received her Diploma in Nursing from MetroHealth Medical Center in 1991. She achieved her BSN and MSN from a collaborative program between Bowling Green State University and Medical College of Ohio in 2005. Judy joined the Care Alliance team in 2005 as a Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner and enjoys working with all patient populations. |
Mary Griffith, Adult Nurse Practitioner
Mary Griffith joined Care Alliance in March 2005. She began her career as a staff nurse at University Hospitals of Cleveland where she worked for 16 years in various clinical areas. She worked for 12 years in the Adult Emergency Department. She received both her BSN and MSN from Case Western Reserve University and has been inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing. She obtained her nurse practitioner certification in 1994 and worked in occupational health and diabetes/lipid research before joining Care Alliance where she provides adult primary care services. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Mary chairs the organization's Quality Improvement/Risk Management Committee. |

Jacqueline Carroll
Jacqueline Carroll received her Associate of Science from Cuyahoga Community College (Cum Laude) and a Diploma of Nursing from Meridia Huron Road School of Nursing. Jacqueline is currently working on her BSN at Ursuline College. She began working at Care Alliance in February 2003. In May of 2007, Jacqueline received the Mary B. Berry Memorial Scholarship. She has always had a passion for working with individuals that are at a disadvantage. |
Ann McDermott
Ann McDermott is life-long-resident of Cleveland. She graduated from Huron Hospital School of Nursing and then attended Cleveland state University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ann has been with Care Alliance since October 2003, and is currently the Nurse Manager fro the Public Housing Clinics. She has a special interest in Community Health and patient education. |
Deirdra Wright, LPN
Deirdra Wright has twenty-one years of healthcare experiencing including pediatrics, cardiology and orthopedics. She received certification as a Medical Office Assistant in 1985 from ICM School of Business and went on to the Community College of Alleghany County to receive her Associates of Science in General Studies in 1989. At the Community College of Beaver County she achieved her LPN in 1991. She is a twenty year veteran of the USAF Reserves as an Information Management Specialist. Upon retirement from the Air Force she joined the Care Alliance team as the Diabetes Coordinator. She has worked at Care Alliance for three and a half years and in that time has become a valuable asset to clients and co-workers. She has also developed a partnership with the national Health Disparities Collaborative. |

Nicole Harris, DDS, Dental Director
Dr. Nicole Harris is a general dentist who has been practicing with Care Alliance since their dental clinic opened five years ago. Prior to working with Care Alliance, she completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program with Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Harris is committed to providing patients with access to much needed dental care. |
Leonard G. Galicki, DDS
Dr. Galicki joined the Care Alliance medical team as Dental Director in July 2002, following almost 30 years in private practice as a general family dentist. Dr. Galicki also provides in-home fitness instruction and is a certified Personal Trainer. Dr. Galicki holds a B.S. and D.D.S. certification from Case Western Reserve University. |
Safiya Raza, DDS
Dr. Raza is a graduate of Case Western Reserve College of Dental Medicine. She completed a one year General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a member of American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association and Greater Cleveland Dental Society. Dr. Raza is married and has three children.
