We Have So Much to Be Thankful For…
Each year, Care Alliance’s biggest supporters come together for a Thanksgiving-themed gala to raise funds to support the programs that are so important to our patients. This year was no exception!
The 22nd Annual Let’s Talk Turkey was held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel on Saturday, November 12, 2016. This year, we commemorated Francis Afram-Gyening’s decade-long legacy of leadership and service at Care Alliance Health Center with a farewell tribute from our community partners. We also honored our 2016 Community Health Champion, Burt Saltzman of Dave’s Markets, for his continued support and dedication to Care Alliance and the patients we serve.
The evening featured a short film screening of Between the Lines, a g2h films production. The screening was following by a thought-provoking discussion on the current crisis of family homelessness and how we can bring about awareness for social causes through film. The discussion was moderated by Kate Fox Nagel, DrPH, MPH, Chief Administrative Officer, Care Alliance Health Center. Panelists included Steven Hacker, Cinematographer, and Producer, g2h films; Andrew Gorell, Actor and Producer, g2h films; and Jim Schlecht, Outreach Worker, Care Alliance Health Center. Following the screening and discussion, Bob Hale, Benefit Auctioneer, lead a paddle raise that brought in an additional $19,000 to support programs and services at Care Alliance Health Center. Lastly, we closed the night out with music and dancing led by The Mike Petrone Band.
A total of 338 people attended this year’s event, and Care Alliance raised over $118,000 (gross revenue) to support our mission. Thank you again to our Board, staff, and supporters who helped make this such a successful fundraiser for Care Alliance Health Center!
