Care Alliance Health Center Launching Search to Replace CEO

Eleace Sawyers is stepping down from her position as president and CEO of the Care Alliance Health Center, Board of Directors Chair David Filmer announced today, and a search will be launched for the next leader. Sawyers’ departure is effective immediately.

Filmer said an interim head of Care Alliance will be named soon. The Center’s department leaders will continue to manage day-to-day operations until that time. A Board committee will immediately begin the search for the next president and CEO.

“We thank Eleace for her service, and we certainly wish her the best,” Filmer said. “We now need to take our team’s success and momentum to the next level as we continue fulfilling our mission to provide high-quality, comprehensive medical care, dental care and patient advocacy services to the people in our community who need them most,” said Filmer.

Care Alliance Health Center (CAHC) is a non-profit federally qualified community health center providing comprehensive primary, and preventive medical, dental, behavioral health, lab, and transportation to families and individuals, regardless of the ability to pay. We are recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), which is an innovative program for improving primary care for our patient population at the St. Clair location. Other sites of CAHC are striving for this recognition. The program gives practical information about organizing care around patient needs, working in teams, and coordinating and tracking care over time.
