Dr. Claude L. Jones, DO appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Care Alliance Health Center

CLEVELAND, OH – September 1, 2019. Care Alliance Health Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Claude L. Jones, DO, MPH, MSc, has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer for Care Alliance Health Center. Dr. Jones is currently the Chief Medical Officer for CAHC and will continue to serve in this role.

Dr. Claude Jones was previously the Assistant Medical Director at the Broward Addiction Recovery Center and Medical Director for the Nancy J. Cotterman Center, the only child advocacy and rape crisis facility in Broward County, Florida. Formerly, he held the position of Senior Vice President/Chief Medical Officer for Jessie Trice Community Health Centers in Miami. In this role, he provided executive oversight and leadership of one of the largest federally qualified health centers in Florida. Developing strategic focus in social determinants of health and health equity; strengthening public-private partnerships; increased connection between public health and clinical medicine; and implementing an outcomes-driven approach to program policy and development.

Prior to his role in Miami, Dr. Jones held the position of Medical Executive Director of the Lake and Putnam County Health Departments in Central Florida. In this position, Dr. Jones provided medical direction and executive oversight in the areas of primary care, maternal and child health, chronic disease, family planning, communicable diseases/epidemiology, immunizations, community health-planning and environmental health.

Dr. Jones received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. He also earned a Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Law and Policy degree from Nova Southeastern University as well. Dr. Jones completed a combined internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Healthcare Quality and is fellowship trained in Addiction Medicine.

Most recently, Dr. Jones was appointed by US Secretary of Health and Human Services to National Advisory Council for the National Health Service Corps. Dr. Jones will remain in the role of Interim President and Chief Executive officer , while the Board of Directors conducts a search for a permanent candidate.
