Dr. Jones to Continue Treating Patients at Care Alliance Clinics While Leading Organization

CLEVELAND – January 22, 2020 – The Care Alliance Health Center Board of Directors has named Dr. Claude Jones President and CEO, effective immediately. The decision was unanimous. Dr. Jones has served the organization as interim President and CEO since August 2019.

“Dr. Jones is an inspiring leader, and we’re excited to have him at the helm. He’s strongly committed to our mission to provide compassionate care for our patients,” said David Filmer, Care Alliance Board Chair. “He immediately jumped in on the business side with a solid strategy to control costs, improve our services, and build team morale so we can continue making health care available to anyone and everyone.”

Dr. Jones will also retain the title of Chief Medical Officer. He intends to continue as a practicing physician and will see patients one day a week.

“Patients love Dr. Jones, and helping them is just part of his DNA,” said David Filmer. “He cares about our patients deeply, and he’ll do everything in his power to make their lives better – whether that’s putting on a Santa suit for kids at our holiday party, prescribing treatment, or making tough business decisions. If it moves our mission forward, he’s front-and-center.”

Before his work at Care Alliance, Dr. Jones served as the Medical Executive Director overseeing public health programs for two counties at the Florida Department of Health; served as Senior VP and Chief Medical Officer at Jessie Trice Community Health Centers; and was Assistant Medical Director at Broward Addiction Recovery Center. Dr. Jones received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. He also earned a Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Law and Policy degree from Nova Southeastern University as well.

“I am thankful for the Board’s vote of confidence, and I’m honored to lead an organization that does so much good in this community,” said Dr. Jones. “In 35 years, Care Alliance has grown from a small medical team to four state-of-the-art clinics, but our mission has never changed. We must provide high-quality, comprehensive medical and dental care, and we must be a strong advocate for our patients and our community.”

“I’m also going to be focused on our staff and our medical providers,” he continued. “They’re the people who make the mission happen, and I want to work with them proactively to be even more effective. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues and with the Board to fulfill our mission every day for every patient, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Care Alliance will be holding a reception for the public to meet Dr. Jones on a date and time to be determined.

Other sites of CAHC are striving for this recognition. The program gives practical information about organizing care around patient needs, working in teams, and coordinating and tracking care over time.
