HIV Services/Support

Care Alliance Health Center provides HIV prevention, treatment and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS through Ryan White program federal funding. Named for HIV/AIDS activist Ryan White, this program is staffed by a specialized team that provides community education, prevention services, testing, linkage to care, early intervention and more.

The HIV Prevention team at Care Alliance Health Center works to prevent the transmission of HIV through rapid testing, risk-reduction counseling, and HIV/STI education sessions in the community. Our HIV Prevention office is located inside of our St. Clair Clinic and can be contacted directly by phone at 216-535-9100.

Clinical staff members at each of our sites have been trained in HIV testing and risk reduction counseling so that testing can be offered upon request at each site. Walk-in testing is available daily between 8am and 5pm. Confidential, rapid testing is performed in less than 15 minutes by a certified HIV testing counselor during walk-in hours.

The Ryan White Program promotes HIV testing as a standard screening test for all. We offer free, confidential, rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing through private appointments at our program office and at community agencies, college campuses, health departments, county jails and community events. HIV self-test kits are available in certain situations.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (or PrEP) is when people at very high risk for HIV take HIV medicines daily to lower their chances of getting infected. Care Alliance Health Center is a proud PReP provider. Contact our HIV Prevention team or our clinic call center today at 216-535-9100 to schedule an assessment and to see if PrEP is right for you.

Outreach Testing

Care Alliance collaborates with several safety-net service providers throughout the Cleveland community to offer free, confidential HIV testing in outreach settings. Many of these outreach testing opportunities take place via our Mobile Testing Unit.

The HIV Prevention team at Care Alliance Health Center is looking to expand its HIV Prevention efforts to Cleveland’s collegiate community. Our team can provide:

  • HIV/AIDS Education
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections Education
  • Sexual Risk Reduction (Including PrEP & Proper Condom Usage) Education
  • Rapid HIV Testing & Counseling

If you are interested in arranging a time for members of our team to visit your campus, business, or event to provide any of the above-mentioned services, please contact Uleta Carter, HIV Prevention Specialist via email.
